Van Winkle - BBQ Grill - Barrowlands: Experience Authentic BBQ in Glasgow

I really wanted to love this place because I’m American but it was not to be. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries because the menu had too much stuff on it (which indicates a lack of doing a few things really well) and hubby ordered the Philly cheese steak and Mac and cheese fries. My cheeseburger and fries were standard - nothing to write home about. Hubby’s Philly cheesesteak should be taken off the menu until the chef visits Philly and tries a real cheesesteak. The Mac and cheese fries were good. Granted, we didn’t order any BBQ wings or ribs so maybe that’s what you should try if you go. Yet I’m very picky with my BBQ’s and the menu didn’t fill me with faith about the bbq foods offered being legit (or smoked how they are done in Kentucky). Service was amazing and attentive! The atmosphere is great.

Relatively small menu with a focus on quality, the food we had was awesome. Shared a few small plates, highly recommend the wings and onion rings. Place has a great vibe, was really busy due to a sold out gig nearby however the staff were incredibly professional

Order from this place more often than I'd like to admit. On the one occasion they did make a small mistake, the managers went over and above to make it right. Food is amazing, customer service is outstanding. Highly recommend.

Loved this place! We are here after our afternoon in Glasgow. We had the steak pie and it was delicious! It was a yummy roast beef in a gravy sauce with a puff pastry topper, then some peas and carrots on the side. The place itself is really cute, and they had even cuter bathrooms lol. The bar wall is end to end different bottles of whiskey and bourbon, so great if you're into that. They also make other drinks and have some beers on tap. If I ever came back to Glasgow I would eat here again!

Great venue, a stones throw from Barrowlands. Food is always spot on and even though it's always busy when I've been in the service is great x

Friendly staff, Good service. The macaroni cheese was amazing and the wings where nice also. Good portion size, decent pints and cocktails. Extra plus for being dog friendly, they have a good menu for dogs a combination of Chicken, fish or beef served with Rice/pasta and veg. Will be back again soon. Only niggle, the place was cold.

Visited Van Winkle yesterday before going to BAAD and was all round a great experience. Good food, cocktails were great and we sat out in beer garden which was a total sun trap. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. My friends all had burgers and I had a chicken wrap and the food was cooked to perfection.

A very lovely place!!!! The bacon and cheese burger is amazing! Pickles match so well with it, the bacon is exactly the one you can imagine. They also provide ketchup and mayo, hot sauce to go with your fries. It’s also a cozy place to hang out, it’s very clean, waiter here is very nice and friendly.
